Performance with Cindy Cordt, Arthur Poutignat and Tim Strohmeier
25 October, 7 p.m.
As part of the series of events Paarungszeit, three artists from Stuttgart and Strasbourg—Cindy Cordt (performance and media art), Arthur Poutignat (visual art, installations), and Tim Strohmeiner (sound and performance art)—will engage in an artistic dialogue to develop a joint work. The project combines artistic research, aesthetic experimentation, and intercultural dialogue, thus forming a bridge between Stuttgart and Strasbourg as well as within the European art scene. Over several days, they will experiment with methods, improvise with sound, space, and performance, and search for common themes and forms of expression. The audience is invited to witness both the creative process and the artistic result. On October 25, 2025, the three artists will present their joint work at HuMBASE Stuttgart. Visitors can become part of the experiment—either as spectators or actively interacting with the performers.
Cindy Cordt is a performance and media artist based in Stuttgart. She studied media art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and at the HGB in Leipzig. Cordt taught at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and has realized international projects in Strasbourg, Toulouse, Budapest, and elsewhere. As a performer, she is sensitive to the tension felt by viewers. She develops symbols for social processes embedded in actions, thereby almost provoking the desire to intervene in her performances.
The artist Arthur Poutignat, who lives in Strasbourg, graduated from the Haute école des arts du Rhin (HEAR) in 2010. His works move between the visible and the invisible and question disciplinary and aesthetic boundaries. Poutignat's projects have been presented internationally, for example in Brussels, Prague, Leipzig, and Pilsen (European Capital of Culture 2015). He is co-initiator of the “Festival des Arts mutants” in Strasbourg and the KINACT project in Kinshasa, which combines performative practice with social exchange. In addition to his artistic work, he teaches video at HEAR and develops collaborative formats with various target groups.
Tim Strohmeiner is an improvisational musician. Drawing on this background, the sound artist expands his instrumentation of drums, percussion, and modular synthesizers with methods from sound installation, light and media art, and music performance. At the core of his artistic interest is working with and within processes that challenge our linear perception of time. In doing so, he attempts to open up the artwork as a shared space between individuals and perspectives.
25.10.2025 , 7 p.m.
The event is part of the Kunstraum34's Paarungszeit series.
